Emilio R. Gonzales, known as "Sweet" of Uvalde, formerly of Sabinal passed away on April 21, 2023, at Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio at the age of 66.
He was born on December 27, 1956, in Uvalde to Eloisa (Reyes) and Luis Gonzales.
He is survived by two daughters, Ashley and Christy Gonzales, both of Bonham, Tx, four sisters, Elida Sanchez and husband, Jose of Uvalde, Annie Martinez of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Emelia Robles and husband, Robert of San Antonio and Elisa Wilson of Uvalde; stepdaughter, Misty Lorance and husband Nerim Vraniqi of Aubrey, Texas, seven grandchildren, Christina Gonzales and husband, Miguel Orozco, Jose Perez, Miguel Gonzales and wife Violeta Tapia, Christian Gonzales, Destiny Ocon-Gonzales, Jorge Ocon-Gonzales and wife Sabrina Ocon and Brianna Ocon; three step grandchildren, Olivia Vraniqi, Kannon Vraniqui, and Draven Lorance; great grandchildren, Ezekiel Orozco, Xzavier Orozco, Israel Orozco, Kayson Gonzales, Jorge Jr Ocon, and Irene Gonzales, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Enrique Gonzales.
Visitation will begin on Monday, April 24, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sabinal.
Cremation is under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
