Ernest Cantu

Ernest M. Cantu of Uvalde passed away on August 31, 2012 at the age of 86. He was born on November 7, 1925 in Monterrey, Mexico to Ramon and Margarita Flores Martinez. He married Alicia Hernandez in Seguin on April 17, 1964. He is survived by his wife of 48 years five daughters, Margarita Castillo and husband, Inacio of Kerrville Irma Maldonaldo and husband, Rafael of Floresville Cindy Rodriguez and husband, Raymond and Connie Vasbinder and husband, Gary all of San Antonio and Rachel Lessese and husband, Javier of Las Vegas, Nevada three sons, Ernest A. Martinez and wife, Nilda and Raymond Martinez, all of Carrizo Springs and Oscar Ortiz of San Antonio brother, Jorge Martinez of Matamoros, Mexico 31 grandchildren 44 greatgrandchildren one greatgreatgrandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. A prayer service will be held on Monday, September 3, 2012 at 7:00 PM at RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the RushingEstesKnowles Chapel with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
