Esperanza Canales

Miss Esperanza P. Penny Canales of Uvalde passed away on May 26, 2010 in Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 86. She was born on November 30, 1923 in Uvalde to Candelario and Anita Pena Canales. She attended Uvalde public schools and graduated from Johnson Beauty School in San Antonio, TX. She worked as a beautician in San Antonio for a few years and then returned home to Uvalde to be the coowner of Canaless Beauty Salon with her sister, Dolores Fisher. She retired as a beautician. She is survived by a sister, Amaro P. Canales of Uvalde two brothers, C.P. Canales, Jr. of Uvalde and Alfredo J. Canales of New Llano, LA and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents three sisters, Consuelo C. Romo, Hortencia C. Aguero, and Dolores C. Fisher and two brothers, Luis P Canales and Ruben P. Canales. A rosary will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2010, at 7:00 PM at the RushingEstesKnowles Chapel. Cremation will be under the direction of RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary.
