Estella Garza

Estella C. De La Garza of Uvalde passed away on March 17, 2017 at her residence at the age of 92. She was born on August 31, 1924 in Uvalde to Y.P. Canales, Sr. and Ada (Fernandez) Canales. She married Rodolfo "Rudy" De La Garza on June 5, 1946 in Uvalde. She is survived by her husband of 70 years; one son and five daughters; one brother, Bill Canales of Arlington; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous in-laws, nieces,nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; four brothers; three in-laws; and one niece. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Silva, Marcus Juarez, Bobby De La Garza, Matthew De La Garza, Rick Villarreal, and Rick Rodriguez.
