Estella Rodriguez

Estella P. Rodriguez of Sabinal passed away on November 8, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 83. She was born on March 31, 1937 in Ocotlan, Jalisco, Mexico to Pedro and Andrea (Varela) Padilla.

She married Ruben Rodriguez on August 25, 1964 in Chicago, Illinois.

She is survived by three daughters Grace Mortell of San Antonio, Texas, Ruth Lehman and husband, Mike of Chicago, Illinois and Blanca Doherty and husband, Mark of Seattle, Washington; three sons Joseph Carranza and wife, Grace of San Antonio, Texas, Joel Carranza and wife, Sherry of Chicago, Illinois, and Raymond Rodriguez and wife, Adriana of Castroville, Texas; six brothers, Richard Padilla, Juan Padilla, Raymond Padilla, Lorenzo Padilla, Charles Padilla, and Daniel Padilla; sisters, Ofelia Salas, Rosemary Van Dyke, and Irene McPhail; numerous nieces and nephews; nine grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Ruben Rodriguez; parents, Pedro and Andrea (Varela) Padilla; brothers, Peter and Abel Padilla; and sister Socorro Padilla.

Estella Rodriguez was an amazing woman who lived an incredible life; she was strong, beautiful, a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and momma Estella to her coworkers at the hospital and friends in her church. She is and will always be loved and cherished dearly by all those whose lives she touched.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 13, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Sabinal Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joseph Carranza, Joel Carranza, Raymond Rodriguez, Hector Lopez, Robert Ayala, Joseph Carranza Jr.

Father Marcin P. Czyz will be officiating.
