Esther Pruneda

Esther Pruneda of Uvalde passed away on January 6, 2014 at The Heights on Huebner nursing home in San Antonio at the age of 91. She was born on August 29, 1922 in Uvalde to Ignacio Y.P. and Ada Fernandez Canales. She is survived by her son, Rudy Pruneda and wife Maria Olga of San Antonio sister, Estella De La Garza of Uvalde brother, Roy Canales of Houston and Bill Canales of Arlington grandchildren, Carlo Pruneda and Chris Pruneda 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodolfo G. Pruneda, parents, sisters, Rosie Menchaca and Mamie Gutierrez brothers, Peter Canales, Alex Canales and Manuel Canales. A vigil will be held on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carlo Pruneda, Chris Pruneda, Eddie De La Garza, Richard Rodriguez, Bill Canales and Billy Canales.
