Esther Rodriguez

Esther Z. Rodriguez of Uvalde passed away on January 9, 2019 in Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 90. She was born on October 28, 1928 in Harlingen, TX to Piedad (Garcia) and Fred Zamorano. She is survived by four sons, Camilo Rodriguez, Jr. and wife, Mary; Johnny Rodriguez and wife, Esther; and Joe Rodriguez, all of Uvalde; and Rene Rodriguez and wife, Nelda of Harlingen; seven daughters, Yolanda Thomas and husband, Ty; and Alicia Reyes and husband, Ralph, all of San Antonio; Carmen Casteñada, and Lucy Lara and husband, Rey, all of Uvalde; Irene Bourbour and husband, Siamak of California; Celia Villarreal and husband, Jesse of Carrizo Springs; and Sylvia Alejandro and husband, Robbie of Sabinal; brother, Neto Zamorano of Rio Grande Valley; sister, Linda Zamorano of Corpus Christi; 28 grandchildren; Linda Rodriguez, Ricky Rodriguez, Rene Rodriguez, Jr., TY Thomas, III, Ann Marie Thomas, Rey Lara, Jr., Lucy Ann Lara, Rene Lara, David Lara, Ralph Reyes, John G. Rodriguez, Julian Rodriguez, Joann Davila, Monica Rodriguez, Michelle Alejandro, Joe L. Rodriguez, Jr., Orlando Castañeda, Araceli Castañeda-Hoefelmeyer, Tito Vasquez, Steven Vasquez, Sorayda Alejandro, Victoria Alejandro, Marisa Villarreal, James M. Villarreal, Sara Bourbour and Ryan Bourbour; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Camilo Rodriguez, Sr.; sisters, Margaret Stillman, Herlinda Zamorano, Delia Zamorano, and Tomacita Zamorano; brothers, Roberto Zamorano, Richard Zamorano, Ocampo Zamorano, and Manuel Zamorano; granddaughter, Angie Rodriguez; and great grandson, Dustin Rodriguez
A rosary will be held on Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, January 14, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial following in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tito Vasquez, Steven Vasquez, John G. Rodriguez, Camilo Richard Rodriguez, III, Ralph Reyes, Rene Rodriguez, Orlando Castañeda, and Rey Lara, Jr.
