Eugene Rubio

Eugene C. Rubio of San Antonio, formerly of Batesville passed away on March 25, 2018 in San Antonio at the age of 59. He was born on October 25, 1958 in Uvalde to Ramon and Irene (Morales) Cuellar.
He is survived by his wife, Norma R. Rubio of San Antonio and son, Eugene Rubio Jr. of San Antonio; brothers, Ramon Cuellar, Jr. of Freeport, Jesse Rubio of San Antonio and Rudy Contreras of Freeport; sisters, Linda Canales of Batesville, Josie Vasquez, Rebecca Fuentes, Rosie Herrera, and Janet Rubio all of Freeport; 3 grandchildren; Daniel Rubio, Gabriel Rubio, and Anastasia Rubio; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jose Rubio.
A rosary will be held on Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 9:00 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Batesville. Cremation is under direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Internment of ashes will be held at a later date.
