Evangelina Castillo

Evangelina "Eva" Castillo formerly of La Pryor passed away on June 1, 2015 in San Antonio at the age of 65. Ms. Castillo was born on February 15, 1950 in Villa Union, Coahuila, Mexico to Demetrio and Maria de Carmen (Cruz) Cerna. Ms. Castillo is survived by her mother, Carmen Lopez of La Pryor; one daughter, Christina Castillo of Corpus Christi; four sons, Juan Manuel Castillo and wife Theresa of League City; Augustin Castillo of Dilley; Alberto Castillo and Christopher Castillo both of La Pryor; four sisters, Ninfa Ledesma of La Pryor; Guadalupe "Lupe" Berrones of Homestead, Florida; Irma Carrasco of Austin and Rosalinda Lopez of Bastrop; four brothers, David Cerna of Salinas, California; Jesus Lopez, Roberto Lopez, Juan Pedro Lopez and Carlos Lopez all of La Pryor; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Ms. Castillo is preceded in death by her father Demetrio Cerna and step-father Pedro Lopez.
A rosary will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in La Pryor with burial to follow in La Pryor Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Juan Pedro Lopez, Carlos Lopez, Roberto Lopez, Jaime G. Ledesma, Roberto Lopez Jr. and Jaime A. Ledesma.
