Evaristo Gonzales Jr.

Evaristo A. Sonny Gonzales Jr. of Uvalde passed away on May 14, 2009 in his residence at the age of 63. He was born on March 18, 1946 in Uvalde, Texas to Evaristo and Ramona Gonzales. He married Maria Ynsela Cortez in Sabinal on March 26, 1978. He is survived by his mother Romana A. Gonzales of Uvalde, Texas; three sisters; Luisa Gonzales and Rosa E. Uriegas both of Uvalde, Texas and Leonor Chacon of San Antonio, Texas; two brothers; Juan Gonzales and wife, Rachel of Uvalde, Texas; and Hector Gonzales and wife, Lillie of San Antonio, Texas; special friend; Eloisa Rodriguez and family; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; Maria Ynsela Gonzales; and father; Evaristo R. Gonzales. A rosary will be held on Thursday and Friday at 7:00 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. Funeral services will be on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be E.J. Uriegas, Henry Ray Uriegas, Frank Mendoza, Joe Mendoza, Gabriel Gonzales, and Hector Gonzales. Honorary pallbearers will be Saul Uriegas, Denovan Amaya, Rudy Ortiz, Ryan Ortiz, Dylan Salas, Josh Mendoza, Jordan Mendoza, Justin Mendoza, Albert Ballesteros and Mark Gonzales.
