Evelyn Mary Turner Shaw, 97, of Uvalde died on Sept. 19, 2017 in Austin, TX.
There will be a private family viewing Sunday, September 24, 2017 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., followed by a public viewing held from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., both at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
A rosary will be recited Sunday at 7 p.m., also at the funeral home.
A funeral service will be held Monday, September 25, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Shaw was born on April 23, 1920, in Sabinal to Josephine (Braden) and August Alex Turner.
She was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Uvalde.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, August Joe "AJ" Turner and Robert "Bobby" Turner; one sister Jeanette Josephine Turner-Alexander; and her beloved husband, William Carroll Shaw.
Shaw is survived by two sons, David Hallum Shaw of Dripping Springs and John Carroll Shaw of Uvalde; one brother, Thomas "Tommy" Turner of Burnett; three sisters, Isabell Reed and June Edwards, both of Uvalde, and Eunice Echols of San Antonio; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
