Felipe Ybarra

Mr. Felipe L. Ybarra of Uvalde passed away on November 17, 2007 in Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 78. He was born on October 2, 1929 in Sabinal, Texas to Ysa and Luisa Ybarra. He was married to Lucia Gonzales in Uvalde on Sept. 24, 1951. He is survived by his wife of 56 years; daughters, Isabel Morales and husband, Onofre; and Anna Hill and husband, Joe of all of Uvalde; sons, David Ybarra and wife, Liz of Castroville; Phillip Ybarra and Moses Ybarra, both of Austin; sisters, Manuela Ramirez of San Antonio; Julia Cardona and husband, Marcelino; Petra Flores; Gloria Arreola; and Leticia Grant, all of Uvalde; brothers, Gumecindo Ybarra and wife, Francis; and Alonzo Ybarra, Sr. all of Uvalde; and Moses Ybarra and wife, Yolanda of Sabinal; grandchildren, Veronica Mata husband, Jerry; Renata Garcia husband, Saul; Victoria Hill; Allison Ybarra; Erica Ybarra; Erik Jason Morales; and Robert Bubba Hill.; great-grandchildren, Faith Mata; Brianna Morales; Mhakayelah Morales, Nevaeh Harris; and Dhariyan Jeremiah Morales; sisters-in-law, Leonor Ceullar; Francisca Martinez; Magdalena Canales and husband C.P. Canales; and Dolores Gonzales. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Josefa Lara and Maria Valdez. A rosary will be held on Sunday and Monday at 7:00 PM at the Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Fr. Ralph Reyes will officiate. Pallbearers will be Robert Bubba Hill; Erik Jason Morales; Jerry Mata; Saul Garcia; Ricky Hernandez; and Roland Canales. Honorary pallbearers will be Felipe Martinez, Jr., C.P. Canales, Alonzo Villarreal, Henry Sanchez, Humberto Aguilar, Antonio Vela and Juan Hernandez.
