Fernando Garcia

Fernando Garcia Saldaña of Uvalde passed away on September 16, 2022, at Amistad Nursing Home at the age of 83.

He was born on May 30, 1939, in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico to Maria Saldaña and Pablo Garcia.

He is survived by his daughters, Norma De Los Santos and husband, Juan of Uvalde and Rosalba Garcia and husband, Hector Hernandez of San Antonio; sisters, Paula Mireles and Juany Salinas both of Eagle Pass; grandchildren, Angie De Los Santos, Johnny De Los Santos, Fernando De Los Santos, Gigi Nava, Alec Hernandez, and Penelope Hernandez; 9 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia Flores; two sisters, Guadalupe Arizmendi and Francisca Sanchez; one brother, Alberto Garcia and niece, Eva Mireles

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Cremation is under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.

Pallbearers will be Juan De Los Santos, Fernando De Los Santos, Hector Hernandez, Alec Hernandez, Joe Costilla and Joe Arizmendi.
