Flora Graw

Flora Marie Graw of Uvalde passed away on February 26, 2012 at Amistad Nursing Home at the age of 96. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on June 22, 1915 to Egidius and Angelina Brentano Nistler and was raised by her stepparents Martin and Ana Ochs Nistler. She graduated from Carrizo Springs High School, worked for the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District as a secretary for 35 years and a Cub Scout Den Mother for the Boy Scouts of America. She was also one of the nations first and last recipients of the BSA Silver Fawn Award and an active member with the Uvalde Rebekka Lodge. She is survived by her sons, Ernst Graw of Devine and Julius Graw and wife Kathy of Dallas, sister, Marie Bell of San Marcos, grandchildren Kathleen Graw Collier of Anaheim Hills, California, Christopher Graw of Dallas, Lorraine Graw Sarles of Los Angeles, California and greatgranddaughter, Maeva Flora Sarles of Los Angeles. She is preceded in death by her parents, stepparents, husband Ernst Adolph Graw, sisters, Alice Armstrong, May Nistler and Josephie Gentry, brothers, Martin Nistler and Eddie Nistler and niece Emma Morgan. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the RushingEstesKnowles Chapel. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
