Floy Jean Tinker Trees of Uvalde passed away on May 22, 2010 in Amistad Nursing Home at the age of 81. She was born on December 8, 1928 in Leakey to Ealy Jackson and Lois Slover Tierce.
She is survived by twin sons, Steven Royce Sparks and wife, Sheila of Hugo, OK and Stanley Allen Sparks and wife, Julie of Mt. Vernon, OH four grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren three stepsons, Richard Trees and wife, Claudel of Rosenburg, TX Robert Trees and wife, Shirley of Ingram and Gaylon Trees and wife, Debbie of Uvalde and a sister, Claudine Merritt of Leakey. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Royce Sparks and Henry Trees a brother, Doyle Tierce sister, Gretna Tampke stepdaughter, Phyllis Richardson and a stepgrandson, Gaylon Charles Guy Trees, Jr.
Mrs. Trees volunteered with the Uvalde Hospice for over 20 years and was a longtime member of the 1st United Methodist Church in Uvalde. She enjoyed spending her free time making quilts. She traveled extensively with her second husband, Henry, and they enjoyed fishing together. They loved to dance and looked for every opportunity to attend Friday and Saturday night dances.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the RushingEstesKnowles Chapel with burial to follow in the J.A. Sparks Memorial Cemetery in Cline, Texas. Rev. Stanley Sparks will officiate. Pallbearers will be Steven Sparks, Gaylon Trees, Bob Trees, Richard Trees, Michael Rivers, and Adam Sparks. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Sparks and Walter Herrington.
