Fortunato Hinojosa Sr.

Fortunato Nato R. Hinojosa Sr. of Uvalde passed away on Tuesday November 29, 2011 at Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 83. He was born on June 7, 1928 in Knippa, Texas to Isaac and Josefa Rosales Hinojosa. He was ordained as a Deacon on April 1, 1979, and was a member of the Cursillistas, and Holy Name Society. He is survived by his daughters, Norma Velasquez and husband Ruben Diane Luna and husband Ricardo Frances Estrada Mary Jo Perez and husband Raul Cecilia Padilla and husband Arnold sons, Fortunato Hinojosa Jr. and wife Guadalupe Ernesto Hinojosa and wife Veronica all of Uvalde, brother Antonio Hinojosa and wife Pura, sister Olivia Hinojosa, both of Uvalde, 16 grandchildren, 27 greatgrandchildren, 3 greatgreat grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Joe Alice Ramos Hinojosa, brother, Robert Hinojosa and sister, Lydia Reyes. A rosary will be held on Tuesday November 29, 2011 and Wednesday November 30, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the RushingEstesKnowles Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 1, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cristian Perez, Raul Perez II, Frankie Estrada, Mike Hernandez III, Erik Estrada, Marco Hinojosa and Oz Velasquez. Honorary pallbearers will be Fortunato Hinojosa Jr., Ernesto Hinojosa, and Ricardo Luna Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 408 Ft. Clark Rd., Uvalde, TX 78801.
