Frances Coward

Frances Coward, 95, of Sabinal passed away on December 15, 2023, at Uvalde Memorial Hospital. 

She was born in Rocksprings, Texas on May 30, 1928.

Frances and her husband, Aldon retired in Sabinal, Texas where they lived the remainder of their lives.  Known to many as “Mama Frances”, she could often be found walking her dog in the park, visiting with the local students and praying for her community. 

Frances is survived by her daughter and 3 granddaughters (and spouses); daughter, Patricia Nunley (Gary); granddaughters, Cindy Trammell (Dennis), Amanda Stumm (Randy), and Monica Dooley (Michael). She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Aldon, her son Michael, and her grandson, Patrick.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary in Sabinal.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary in Sabinal with interment at the Sabinal Cemetery.
