Frances Thompson

Frances Thompson of Uvalde passed away on October 10, 2013 at her residence at the age of 88. She was born on March 6, 1925 in Rotan, TX to William and Linnie Horton Sargent. She married Claude Thompson in Rotan on April 10, 1955. She is survived by her husband of 58 years son, Greg Thompson and wife, Linda of Pflugerville, TX four grandchildren, Taadamexa Smith Tanya Lynn McGonagill Tulley Thompson and Susan Thompson and four greatgrandchildren, Alexis Thompson Amber and Houston Smith and Elizabeth McGonagill. She was preceded in death by her parents son, Glenn Thompson and sister, Vila Rae Porterfield. During WWII, Frances worked at Kelly Field as an aircraft inspector where she also played softball. She also worked for a bank and the school tax office in Rotan as a bookkeeper. She loved fishing and traveling. Frances traveled over twenty five U.S. states, Mexico, and Canada on family vacations. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Church of Christ with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Travis Smith J.P. McGonagill Tulley Thompson and Joe Perez.
