Frances Tidwell

Frances Elizabeth Tidwell of Uvalde passed away on March 1, 2014 in Uvalde Healthcare and Rehab at the age of 101. She was born on May 5, 1912 in Montell, TX to Pleas and Eula Wilson McMains. She married Cecil Tidwell on February 17, 1940. They moved to Del Rio where Cecil worked for the Texas Highway Department. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Townsend of Abilene granddaughter, Serena Voss and husband, Jim of Post, TX grandson, Jimmy Saunders and wife, Kathryn of Abilene two greatgrandchildren five greatgreatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews greatnieces and greatnephews greatgreatnieces and and greatgreatnephews and greatgreatgreatnieces and greatgreatgreatnephews. She is preceded in death by her husband parents two sisters, Anna Lee McMains, and Marguerite McMains Franklin and husband, L.J. Franklin three brothers, Sam McMains and wife, Jean Gordie McMains and wife, Juanita and Marion McMains and wives, Eltea and Helen and one niece, Catherine McMains Keeney. The family will greet visitors on Friday from 5:007:00 PM at RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the South Getty Church of Christ with burial following in Uvalde Cemetery. Mr. King Burney will officiate.
