Francisca Lopez, a beloved daughter, mother, and friend, peacefully passed away on November 3 2024, at her home in La Pryor, Texas, surrounded by the warmth of her family. She was 56 years old and left this world as quietly as she lived, embodying the love and kindness that defined her life.
Born on October 2, 1968, in Uvalde, Texas, Francisca brought joy to everyone she encountered. A graduate of La Pryor High School’s class of 1987, she embraced her role as the Bulldog mascot with infectious enthusiasm, becoming a cherished figure among students and families alike. Her laughter and spirit illuminated the lives of those around her.
Francisca was known for her strong work ethic, beginning her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant at a young age. She later spent 18 fulfilling years as the store manager at Family Dollar in Elgin, Texas, where her genuine care for her customers fostered deep connections within her community. In every aspect of her life, her love shone through: whether she was cooking delicious meals, crocheting beautiful blankets, or thoughtfully assembling Easter, Valentine’s, and Christmas baskets, her creative spirit left a lasting impression on many.
Family gatherings brought her immense joy; she cherished the moments spent with loved ones, celebrating life’s milestones and creating memories that will be forever cherished. Francisca is survived by her two daughters, Genesis Gallegos and Natasha Elena Gallegos both of Uvalde, and her grandchildren, who were the light of her life: Zabella Garza, Cateleya Lopez, Camila Lopez, Teresa Carizales, Lilliana Rose Avila, Rene Garza, Jr., and Juan Pablo Carizales. Her love continues in each of them.
She is also survived by her mother, Francisca Lopez of La Pryor; her three brothers, Tirso Lopez and wife, Eva, Isidro Lopez all of La Pryor, and Francisco Lopez of Garden City, Kansas; three sisters, Diamantina Steele, Lourdes Pargas and husband, Alejandro, and Janie Patching and husband, John all of La Pryor; and numerous nieces and nephews who will carry her legacy forward.
Francisca leaves behind a tapestry of love, laughter, and warmth—a testament to a life well-lived. Her spirit will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a service at 6 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary, where we will gather to celebrate her beautiful life. Cremation will be handled with care by Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
In our hearts and memories, we trust that we will one day reunite with Francisca in heaven, where her laughter will continue to bring joy to all.
