Francisca Quijano

Francisca Quijano of La Pryor passed away on January 18, 2016 at her residence at the age of 71. She was born on September 11, 1944 in Del Rio to Ponciano Valdez and Romana Garza. She married Joel Quijano in La Pryor on May 4, 1959. She is survived by her husband of 56 years; six sons, Jesse Quijano and wife, Irma of Euless; Marcos Quijano, Jose Quijano, Joel Quijano, Jr. and wife, Elsa, all of La Pryor; and Martin Quijano and wife, Monica and Robert Victorino and wife, Alma, all of Uvalde; four daughters, Viviana Quijano, Victoria Ortegon and husband, Jesse, and Juanita Vasquez and husband, Leonard, all of La Pryor; and Marina Rios and husband, Ramon of Batesville; two sisters, Juanita Ponce and husband, Felipe of Temple; and Lupe Valdez of La Pryor; and 30 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Maria Mendoza and Dolores Ortiz; grandson, John Thomas Vasquez and great granddaughter, Jalyssa R. Ortegon. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in La Pryor with burial to follow in La Pryor Cemetery. A rosary will be held on Monday and Tuesday at 7:00 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Pallbearers will be Jesse Quijano, Marcos Quijano, Martin Quijano, Abel Vasquez, Frank Martinez, Alberto Ponce, John David Victorino, Joel Quijano, Jr., and Robert Victorino.
