Franklin Forrest Matlock, known to his loved ones as Woody, passed away on April 22, 2024, at the age of 52, in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. He was born on April 1, 1972, in Pasadena, Texas, to Dean Matlock and Dora Lee Matlock.
Woody was a loving, caring, and hardworking man who cherished his daughter, Jessica Matlock, dearly. He was a devoted husband to Michelle Annette Matlock and together they made a home in Trinity, TX. Woody had a special bond with his father, whom he cared for
in his final days. He enjoyed talking about his daughter, Jessica, and the memories they shared.
In his free time, Woody loved riding his Harley with the wind in his face and music blaring. He had a fondness for homemade biscuits and gravy, Mexican food, Dr. Pepper, and Chicken Fried Steak. His favorite songs were "Try That in a Small Town," "Little Moments," and "Monsters."
Woody is survived by his wife, Michelle Annette Matlock, his daughter Jessica Matlock, his sisters Theresa Sterling and Sheila Irwin, and his brother-in-law Randy.
Also an extended family who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dean Matlock and Dora Lee Matlock, he was blessed with an amazing stepmom Dale Matlock who loved him dearly and his sisters Melissa Renai Matlock and Zhanell Burch, as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A Graveside Service and Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 10:30 am at Heard Cemetery in Reagan Wells, Uvalde, TX. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations would be greatly appreciated to support Woody's family during this challenging time. Thank you for your kindness.
