Frutoso Contreras

Frutoso Ortiz Contreras formally of Uvalde, passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 in Billings, Montana at the age of 75.

Frutoso was born January 21, 1946 in Pearsall to Donaciano and Celia (Ortiz) Contreras.

He married Emma Castaneda on February 24, 1967 in Uvalde.

Frutoso is survived by his wife of 54 years, Emma C. Contreras of Billings, Montana; two daughters, Eva Contreras Serna and husband Hector Serna of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Anna Contreras of Billings, Montana; two sisters, Catarina Blair of Arkansas and Maria Wise and husband Steve of Cleveland, Texas ; four brothers, Chano Contreras of Conroe, Texas, Jose Contreras of Centerville, Texas, Antonio Contreras and Pablo Contreras both of Crystal City; granddaughter Ninel Gutierrez of Billings, Montana; numerous niece, nephews and cousins.

Frutoso is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Michael Contreras, Santiago Contreras and Domingo Contreras.

Visitation for Frutoso will start on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 12:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A prayer service will be held on Friday, October 29 at 7:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
