Genaro Uriegas

Genaro G. Uriegas of Uvalde passed away on June 30, 2009 in his residence at the age of 84. He was born on July 10, 1924 in Utopia, Texas to Saturino and Eulogia Uriegas. He is survived by six daughters; Margie Lira, Annie Gutierrez and husband, Jesse; Pat Arredondo and husband, Ruben; Cynthia Garza and husband, Joe Gonzalez; Deborah Reyna and husband, Daniel all of Uvalde, Texas; and Kathryn Padero and husband, Maurice of San Antonio, Texas; two sons; Genaro Uriegas Jr. and wife, Mary Ann; and Henry Ray Uriegas and wife Beatrice all of Uvalde, Texas; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Uriegas, parents, two brothers and one sister. A rosary will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. Funeral services will be Friday, July 3, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be J. Gutierrez, Reuben Arredondo, Henry Ray Uriegas, EJ Uriegas, Emilio Garza IV, Paul Contreras and Steven Lira.
