Geneva Beavers

Geneva Sue Beavers of Uvalde passed away on July 24, 2015 in Uvalde Healthcare & Rehab at the age of 101. She was born on February 16, 1914 in the Leona Ditch Community in Uvalde County to William Merritt Beavers and Josie Mayberry Beavers. She is survived by six nieces and nephews, Howard Knowles of Houston; Bryson Knowles of Concan; Betty Ann Knox of Granbury; Jo Martinson of Fayetteville, AR; and Mary Sebesta and David Aycock, both of San Angelo. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Mildred Beavers, Martha Beavers, Bonnie Ruth Aycock, and Dovie Knowles; and one brother, Jimmy Beavers. Sue was the oldest living member of the First United Methodist Church in Uvalde and a devoted member of the Life Training Class. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Uvalde Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church. Rev. Tim Fahrenthold and Rev. Nathan Lafrenz will officiate. Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 301 N. High St., Uvalde, TX 78801 or the Uvalde Hospice, 1038 Garner Field Rd., Uvalde, TX 78801.
