George Wilson Hoot Graves of Uvalde passed away on June 9, 2010 in The Arbors Assisted Living at the age of 87. He was born on April 15, 1923 in Uvalde, Texas to Lee Thomas and Clara Agnes Studer Graves. He married Carleta Mae Hess in Uvalde, Texas on March 8, 1947. Mr. Graves ran the familyowned Graves Lumber and Hardware Store for many years. He was a real estate broker since 1950. According to the family, he was a wonderful father, grandfather, and greatgrandfather, and will be loved and missed by all. He is survived by two daughters Kay Jungerman of Uvalde, Texas, and Pamela Deaton and husband, Roy of Sanderson, Texas two sisters, Doris Reynolds of Uvalde and Mary Huffstedler of Concan one brother, James B. Graves of Montgomery, TX four grandchildren, Don Jungerman Clint Jungerman Renee Deaton Jones and Derek Wilson Graves 8 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents wife son, Robert Wilson Graves two sisters and three brothers. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Cemetery. Rev. Scott Bradford will officiate. Pallbearers will be Don Jungerman Clint Jungerman Derek Graves Buck Jones Roy Deaton and Don Laffere. Honorary pallbearers will be Pete Rosenow Ira Sansom Edmond Speer Ben Harp Bill Dozier, Jr. Sheldon Haynes Steve Unruh Stanley Smith Bryson Connell and Carmen Connell. Memorial donations may be made to the Uvalde Hospice, 1038B Garner Field Rd., Uvalde, TX 78801 or the 1st United Methodist Church, 301 N. High St., Uvalde, TX 78801.
