George Lane

George Wilson Lane of Uvalde went to be with his Lord on Wednesday April 13, 2011 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 66. He was born Sept. 18, 1944 in Uvalde, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ann Scrimshire Lane, one son Mike Lane of Uvalde two daughters, Barbara Pacha and husband Shane of Uvalde Kathy Nelson and and companion, Julian Gerber of San Antonio, six grandchildren Rebecca Gleason and Danny Gleason of Uvalde, Meagan and Christopher Nelson, Faith Gerber of San Antonio, and Charles Lane of Uvalde, two great grandchildren, Gail and Allison Ricones of Uvalde, three brothers, Richard and wife, Marcella of Idaho Ronnie Lane of Uvalde and Adrian Lane and wife, Dianne of Nampa, Idaho, two sisters, Deborah Montz and husband, David of Sugarland, TX., and Vickie Lane of Arlington, TX., and numerous nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents, George and Betty Lane, and an infant son. George retired after working 42 years for the Texas Department of Transportation. In recent years he went on the Emmaus Walk and faithfully worked in this community at the First Methodist Church of Uvalde. Pallbearers were Randy Abbey, Alton Paris, Steve Smallwood, David White, Julian Gerber and Shane Pacha. Honorary pallbearers will be Emmaus 4th Day Group. Services will be Sunday April 17, 2011 at 5:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church of Uvalde with burial to follow in the Uvalde Cemetery. Rev. Scott Bradford will officiate. Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Building Fund, 301 N. High St., Uvalde, TX 78801.
