George Roman

George C. Roman of Uvalde passed away on January 25, 2008 in his residence at the age of 81. He was born on December 21, 1926 in La Pryor, Texas to Sarafin Sr. and Rosa Roman. He married Beatrice Cortez on October 15, 1946 in Acorn, Michigan. He is survived by his wife of 61 years; daughters; Candelaria Candy Johnson and husband, Mark of Bettendorf, Iowa; Jane and husband Mike of Conyers, Georgia; sons; George Roman Jr. and wife, Norma of Round Rock, Texas; Joe Roman and wife, Carmen; and Henry Roman and wife, Velma all of Uvalde, Texas; Juan Roman and wife, Monica of San Antonio, Texas; sister; Santos Martinez of Uvalde, Texas; brothers; Frank Roman and Sarafin Roman Jr. both of Uvalde, Texas; and Emilio Roman of Kerrville, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son; Father Manuel Roman; sister; Herlinda Salazar and brother; Herlacio Roman. A Rosary will be held on January 28, 2008 at 7:00 PM at the Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Father Wieslaw Iwaniec will officiate.
