George Samarripa

George M. Samarripa of Uvalde passed away on January 27, 2009 in his residence at the age of 62. He was born on July 3, 1946 in Uvalde, Texas to Eduardo and Eulalia Samarripa. He is survived by his wife Olga Samarripa of Uvalde, TX; four daughters; Stella Cano and husband, Tony; and Christy Samarripa and husband, Larry Olivarez all of Boerne, TX; Alicia Cardoza of Uvalde, TX; and Norma Samarripa and husband, Albert Nuncio of San Antonio, TX; one son; George Samarripa II of Uvalde, TX; two sisters; Olivia Herrera and Esther Perez both of Uvalde, TX; three brothers; Juan Samarripa of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Gregorio Samarripa of Waukegan, IL; and Alejandro Samarripa of Devine, TX; thirteen grandchildren; Michael S. Mata II, Samantha, Kurt and Megan Cardoza, Kristopher Patino, Brittany Samarripa, Bianna Olivarez, Vincent and Dillon Nuncio, Chelsey Cano, Larry Olivarez II, Natalie Samarripa and Nathan Olivarez; three great grandchildren; Isaac Castillo, Michael Mata and Maddison Castillo. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sister; Rebecca Samarripa and Elisa Placencia; five brothers; Eduardo, Pedro, Jose, Ramon, and Ignacio Samarripa; two grandchildren; Matthew Cano and Mia Samarripa. A rosary will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:00 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Mata II, Kurt Cardoza, Kristopher Patino, Vincent Nuncio, Ernest Vasquez, Roy Samarripa, Robert Samarripa, and Armando Placencia.
