Gilbert Baker

Gilbert Ray Baker of Uvalde passed away on March 1, 2018 in Uvalde Healthcare and Rehab at the age of 83. He was born on November 29, 1934 in Killeen to Joseph Raymond Baker and Cordia Ola Bryce Baker. He married Jackie Lee Cravey in Leakey on September 11, 1956. She preceded him in death on July 11, 2016. He is survived by three sons, Ron Baker and wife, Mary Lou of Laredo; Don Baker and wife, Kelly of Uvalde; and Michael Baker and wife, Lauren of Spring; sister, Marie Spires of Georgetown; brother, J.R. Baker and wife, Jane of La Vernia; eight grandchildren, Ronda Martens, Ashley Applegate, Jessica Williams, Ryan Baker, Blake Baker, Logan Baker, Callie Baker, and Cade Baker; 7 great-grandchldren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brother, Troy Baker. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary with burial to follow in Leakey Cemetery. Mr. King Burney will officiate. Pallbearers will be Ron Baker, Don Baker, Michael Baker, Ryan Baker, Blake Baker, and Logan Baker.
