Gilbert Cruz

Gilbert M. Cruz of Uvalde passed away in Uvalde, Texas December 4, 2011 at the age of 94. He was born on November 10, 1917 in Manheim, Texas to Dimas and Lucia Morales Cruz. He married Victoria Barrientos on September 1942 in Eagle Pass, Texas. He was the owner of Laguna Landscaping Nursery for 25 years. He is survived by daughter Teresa Cruz Kypuros of Eagle Pass, Texas sons Moises B. Pena of Crystal City, Texas Gilbert B. Cruz Jr. of San Antonio, Texas and Frank B. Cruz of Uvalde, Texas sister Sofia Preciado of San Antonio, Texas grandchildren Moises Pena Jr., Michael Pena, Martha Pena Wise, Jaime R. Kypuros Jr., Miguel X. Kypuros, Dawn M. Cruz, Elisa Cruz Affeldt and Christopher M., Cruz fifteen great grandchildren and two greatgreat grandchildren numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Victoria B. Cruz parents, Dimas and Lucia Cruz sister, Anita Mancha three brothers, Dimas Cruz Jr., Willie Cruz and Oscar Cruz. A rosary will be held Monday and Tuesday at 7:00 PM at RushingEstesKnowles Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 7, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Moises Pena Jr., Michael Pena, Jaime R. Kypuros, Michael Pena Jr., Miguel X. Kypuros and Christopher M. Cruz.
