Gilbert Garza

Gilbert Joe Garza of Batesville passed away on April 23, 2019 in Houston at the age of 65.  He was born on May 20, 1953 in Pleasanton, Texas to Jose and Locaria (Camacho) Garza.

He married Consancion Luna on July 3, 1989.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years; his mother of Batesville; daughter, Cindy Garza of Elgin, Illinois; sons, Larry Garza of Batesville and Carlos Garza and wife, Julie of Algonquin, Illinois; sisters, Alamar Campos of Batesville and Genoveva Vela of Uvalde; brothers, George Garza of San Antonio and Armando Garza of Batesville; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; son, Hector Prado; paternal grandparents, Jose Luis and Juanita Garza; sister, Guadalupe Garza and brothers, Juan Manuel Garza, and Jose Garza, Jr.

Visitation will begin on Thursday at 12:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A rosary will be held on Thursday and Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, April 27 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Batesville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Carlos Garza, Lauro Garza, Hugo Garza, Leo Trevino, Ramiro Sanchez, Joe Cruz and Larry Garza.
