Gilbert Rodrick Rod Gonzalez of Uvalde passed away on August 22, 2012 in Frio County at the age of 53. He was born on July 17, 1959 in San Antonio, Texas to Gilbert Gonzalez and Linda Perez Davey. He married Dora E. Hernandez on January 31, 1987 in San Antonio. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, parents of San Antonio, daughter, Briana Garza of Fort Carson, Colorado and Alanys Rhae Gonzalez of Uvalde son, Rodrick Anthony Aleman of Corpus Christi sisters, Sandra Arias and Lucy Gonzalez brothers, Jason Castro and Forrest Gonzalez all of San Antonio grandchildren, Carmen Vienne Aleman and Alex Joe Garza Jr., and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by grandson, Robert Rodrick Garza, maternal grandparents, Antonio and Carmen Perez and paternal grandmother, Carolina Martinez Aranda. A rosary will be held on Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at the RushingEstesKnowles Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Friday August 31, 2012 at 3:00 p.m at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rick Nunez, Edward Luna, Hector Maldonado, Ray Gonzales, Tony Valdez, Robert Ramos, Ruben Rodriguez and Rodrick Anthony Aleman. Honorary pallbearers will be Marcos Salas, Sabino Alvarez, Gilbert Sanchez, John Jay Cano, Ernest Ramirez, Andrew Rivera and Joe Garza.
