Glenda Gates

Glenda Walts Gates of Uvalde passed away on December 25, 2013 in San Antonio at the age of 80. She was born on August 4, 1933 in Cherokee County to Jesse and Mattie Smith Mitchell. She married John Paxton Walts in Uvalde on December 11, 1948. She is survived by her son, John Walts and wife, Lana Beth of Utopia daughters Cheryl Schillings and husband, Jerry and Patricia Calliham, both of Uvalde, Becky Loving and her husband, Barry of Gatesville, TX and Beverly Walts of Whittier, AK sister, Leta Rae Haskett and husband Minor, of Oak Leaf, TX 12 grandchildren and 9 greatgrand children. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons Joseph Walts and Kenny Walts, 2 grandchildren John Henry Walts and Trenton Shriver. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Rev. Charles Alley will officiate. Pallbearers will be Cody Walts, John Allen Walts, Paxton Calliham, Bryan Van Wagner, Harry Fulmer, Martin Vasquez, Trevor Hardin and Greg Fry.
