Gloria Garcia

Gloria R. Garcia of Uvalde passed away on March 15, 2009 in Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 80. She was born on June 30, 1928 in Uvalde, Texas to Juan G. and Consuelo Ramirez. She married Benito Garcia in 1948. She is survived by one daughter Viola M. Garcia of Uvalde, Texas; one brother; Jesus A. Ramirez of Vidalia, Louisiana; sister-in-law; Nena Ramirez of San Antonio, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Benito Garcia; brother, Baltazar Ramirez; sister; Feliz Ramirez; niece; Debbie Ramirez; and nephews; Terry Ramirez and Eleazar Lee Lugo Jr. A rosary will be held on Monday and Tuesday at 7:00 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Leroy Hernandez, Eleazar Lee M. Lugo Sr., Willie Garcia Jr., Eloy Garcia, Joe Ibarra Jr., J.B. Ramirez, Manuel Hernandez Jr., and Stephen Hernandez. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic School, 401 W. Leona; Uvalde, Texas 78801.
