Glover Eugene King passed away on January 24, 2009 at the Carlsbad State Hospital in San Angelo, TX where he had been a resident for 10 years. Glover was born to Glover Tex and Dorotha Lee King on November 4, 1949 in Uvalde, TX where he resided for 28 years. He had stops along the way in San Antonio and Austin, Texas.
His survivors include his older brother Walter E. King and wife Karen King of Midland, Texas; two nephews, Leighton King and his wife Lynette King of Midland, TX, and Lance King of Ft. Worth; two nieces; Heather Gunter and husband, Josh Gunter and their two children; Cade and Halle Gunter of Midland, TX; and Lexa Brecheen and her husband, Marcus Brecheen and their five children, Macey, Bethany, Seth, Cole and Brielle of Ft. Worth, TX.
Glovers memory of the old days, growing up around his grandfather and dads drilling rigs, was a delight that he would never forget. He was an inspiration to many people wherever he went. The strength, courage and joy he unknowingly displayed in his battle with cancer, brought all who knew him closer together.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers were Chris Carper, Leighton King, James Loessberg, and Josh Gunter.
