Gonzalo Uriegas

Gonzalo A. Uriegas Jr. passed away at his home in San Antonio, Texas on December 16, 2007 at the age of 69.Gonzalo Diddy Uriegas Jr. was preceded in death by his wife Frances A. Uriegas and his parents Mr. Mrs. Gonzalo Uriegas Sr. and one brother; Rene Uriegas. He is survived by one sister Carmen Mares. Six children, Diane Tafolla and husband Frank C. Tafolla, Debbie Uriegas, Raymond Velos and wife, Irma; Alfredo Velos, Victor Velos and wife Rosa; and Johnny Alvarado. Nine grandchildren; Jennifer Ann Velos; Connie Frances Velos; Christina Rae Velos; Victor Velos Jr.; Brianna Francine Nicole Tafolla; Isaac Gonzalo Cevallos, Christopher Alfredo Velos; Raymond A. Velos; and Isabella Frances Cevallos. One aunt Teresa Aguilera; numerous nieces and nephews. Three sister-in-laws; Elida Uriegas; Geneva Alvarado; and Andrea Lara. He was a life long member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a fourth degree member Knight, of the Knights of Columbus and became Deacon of the Catholic Church and served for 19 years. A rosary will be held on Monday and Tuesday at 7:00 PM at the Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2007, at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Frank C. Tafolla; Arturo Cadillo; Isaac Gonzalo Cevallos; Victor Velos Jr.; Rene Uriegas and Ruben Uriegas. The family suggest memorial donations go to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in care of the Guadalupanos Society.
