Granberry Shandley of Leakey passed away on December 30, 2020 at his residence at the age of 74. He was born on May 29, 1946 in Huntsville, Texas to Jack Arthur and Lora Elizabeth (Hebert) Shandley. His father, Jack lived in Livingston, Texas where he was a well-known fishing guide at Lake Livingston and his mother, Lora lived in Leakey.
He married Keitha Harper in Baytown, Texas on August 7, 1971. Gran and Keitha have been married for 49 years and have been attending Living Waters Church in Utopia since 1988. Gran was the Elder of the church. Gran's favorite pastime was Bass fishing and Bass Champ fishing tournaments.
He is survived by his wife, Keitha Shandley of Leakey, Texas, formerly of Baytown, Texas; daughter, Tracie Osborn and husband Kris of Wetumpka, Oklahoma, with grandchildren James (Indy) Jones Jr., Lauren Mackenzie Jones and Jackson Harper Jones; son: Granberry (Josh) Boyd Shandley II and wife, Tessa of Kingsville, Texas with grandchildren Granberry Boyd Shandley III and Eileen Ann Shandley; brothers, Jack Arthur Shandley Jr., of Del Rio, Texas, Robert (Bob) Boyd Shandley and wife, Shirley of Leakey, Texas, Alvin Lee Shandley and wife, Jan of Leggett, Texas; sisters, Joann McCaleb of Ingham, Texas and Sarah Martz and husband, Larry of Greensburg, PA.
He is preceded in death by father, Jack Arthur Shandley; mother, Lora Elizabeth Hebert; and sister: Jenny Pearl Napier of Dennison, Texas
There will be having a Celebration of Life for Gran at Living Waters Church Pavilion in Utopia on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 2:00 officiated by Pastor Robert Richarz.
