Guadalupe Arizmendi

Guadalupe Arizmendi of Uvalde passed away on August 8, 2017 in San Antonio at the age of 76. She was born on March 27, 1941 in El Moral, Coahuila, Mexico to Pablo Garcia and Maria Saldana Garcia. She married Jose E. Arizmendi in Piedras Negras, Mexico on January 8, 1966. She is survived by her husband of 51 years; son, Jose Gerardo Arizmendi of Uvalde; three daughters, Patricia Salazar and husband, Ramiro and Cristina Mirelez and husband, Juan, all of Uvalde; and Elizabeth Arizmendi of San Antonio; two brothers, Alberto Garcia of Eagle Pass and Fernando Garcia of Uvalde; three sisters, Paula Mireles and Juany Salinas, both of Eagle Pass, and Mary Zavala of Uvalde; seven grandchildren, Ramiro Salazar, Jr., Kassandra Salazar, Alena Salazar, Zachary Arizmendi, Jason Garcia, Jr., Julissa Garcia, and Mason Mirelez; and three great-grandchildren, Andrew Rendon; Ramiro "Tres' Salazar, III; and Nolan Salazar. She was preceded by her parents and a sister, Francisca Sanchez. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 11:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Garcia, Jr.; Zachary Arizmendi; Ramiro Salazar, Jr.; Ramiro Salazar, Sr.; Juan Mirelez; and Jose G. Arizmendi. Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Rendon; Ramiro "Tres" Salazar, III; Mason Mirelez; and Nolan Salazar.
