Guadalupe L. Mirelez of Uvalde passed away on July 7, 2019 in San Antonio at the age of 75. He was born on March 20, 1944 in Uvalde to Julio and Otelia (Lombrana) Mirelez.
He married Juanita Jasso in Gilroy, California on August 8, 1965.
Mr. Mirelez was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a Grand Knight of Columbus. He was a volunteer at Uvalde Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and was a Roadrunner with the Uvalde Chamber of Commerce. He was a truck driver for over 43 years.
Mr. Mirelez is survived by his wife of 53 years; daughter, Maria Goodell of Arlington; son, Reynaldo J. Mirelez and wife, Jessica Luna of Uvalde; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Juanita Elena Sanchez; and son, Guadalupe Mirelez, Jr.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A rosary will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Thursaday, July 11, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Uvalde Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Alex Martinez, Adrian Sanchez, Alejandro Mirelez, Reynaldo Mirelez Jr., Dellanira Martinez, and Abriana Mirelez.
