Helen Marie Ogden King passed away at her residence on July 16, 2011 at the age of 79. She was born on February 9, 1932 to William Luther and Ruth Sharon Ogden in Port Arthur, Texas and was raised in Baytown, Texas. She is survived by sons Tracy O. King and wife Cheryl and Kreg A. King daughter, DeAnn R. King grandchildren, Aaron M. King, Whitney M. King, Katelyn M. King and Clayton B. King greatgrandchildren, Bradley W. Thompson and Brayden K. King nieces Sharon Tucker and Sherry Oliphant nephew, David Dittfurth several cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents brother, Jack Ogden and sister, Geraldine Dittfurth. Visitation begins at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at the RushingEstes Knowles Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be held on July 21, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing EstesKnowles Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m.on July 22, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Uvalde.

Helen was a retired registered nurse and worked for many years in hospitals throughout the Southwest and as a visiting nurse after retiring from hospital work. She enjoyed working with her crafts, reading and visiting with her many friends. She had a very generous heart and was always eager to help any person or animal in need and was a foster parent for many children over the years.

Pallbearers will be Joe Rodriguez, Clayton King, Sergio Ramos, Lee Lugo, David Dittfurth and Aaron King.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Uvalde Hospice at 124 Royal Lane, Uvalde, Texas, 78801.
