Helen Lucille Berry Lloyd went to be with her Lord and savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at her home in New Braunfels, Texas at the age of 80.
She was born on May 14th, 1944 in Uvalde, Texas to William and Patricia Berry. She spent her childhood in Uvalde where she graduated from high school in 1962.
She married her sweetheart, James “Harold” Lloyd on December 31st, 1961 in Uvalde, Texas. She and Harold owned a successful farming business and raised their family in Batesville, Texas. After retirement in 1998, they moved to Lubbock and then to New Braunfels.
Her favorite hobbies included researching her family’s genealogy, writing poetry, traveling with her husband in their R.V., Shih Tzus, and spending time with family. She loved going to county courthouses and libraries around the United States looking up genealogy resources and was a proud descendant of the Mayflower. She was also quite an accomplished seamstress when her children were younger.
Preceding Helen in death were her parents, William and Patricia Berry; son, Duane Lloyd; brothers, Robert Berry, George Berry and “Billy” Berry. She is survived by her sons, Rodney Lloyd and wife Cathy of San Antonio and Leslie Lloyd and wife Julie of Granbury and daughter, Angela Vlasak of College Station. Other surviving family members include her grandchildren Josh Vela, Julien Vela and wife Taylor, Garrett Lloyd and wife Emily, Kyle Vlasak, Justin Lloyd, Savannah Vlasak, and Reagan Lloyd. She is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Lamirand of Carrizo Springs and numerous nieces and nephews.
Helen was a member of the Church of Christ for over 60 years and her walk with Christ meant a great deal to her. Her favorite Bible verse was II Corinthians 4:8-9. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
