Helen Strait

Helen Strait of Utopia passed away on December 11, 2019 in Uvalde at the age of 69.  She was born on December 11, 1950 in Prior, Oklahoma to Jesse D. Moore and Edna (Casey).

She graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a master's degree in English and taught English courses at Southwest Texas Junior College - Eagle Pass, for 14 years.

Helen is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ed Strait of Utopia; son, Jon Strait and wife, Marilou, and granddaughter, Daisy, of Vancouver, British Colombia; and sister, Fay Vogt of Port Angeles, Washington.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lloyd Moore; and sister, Dorothy Wellington.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary in Uvalde.
