Herlinda Castro

Herlinda Castro of Uvalde passed away on August 8, 2020 at Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 71. She was born on September 5, 1948 in Uvalde to Onofre Sotelo and Augustina Vasquez.

She married Jose G. Castro on December 10, 1986 in Uvalde.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years of Uvalde; daughters Laura Ann Sotelo, Christina Ann Castro, and Jessica Rodriguez all of Uvalde; sons, Raul Sotelo of Uvalde and Mark Anthony Sotelo of San Antonio; sisters Estella Sanchez, Irma Gomez, Josie Sotelo all of Uvalde, Santos Saldana of Wisconsin, Rebecca Mendoza of Florida, and Elida Shultz of Wisconsin; brother Ricardo Sotelo of Uvalde, and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jose Sotelo and sister, Consuelo Perez.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.  A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Juan Carlos Rodriguez, Alfredo Sotelo Pineda, Alexander Sanchez, Raul Sotelo, Jr., Gilbert Torres Rodriguez, and Juan Luis Sosa
