Herlinda Rangel Chacon of Uvalde passed away on April 16, 2023, at her residence at the age of 74. She was born on June 2, 1948, in Piedras Negras, Mexico to Petronila (Fiero) and Fernando Rangel.
She married Mario Chacon on April 26, 1963, in Piedras Negras, Mexico.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years of Uvalde; four daughters, Rosalinda Chacon of Eagle Pass, Norma Chacon, Lorena Barrera and husband, Eloy, and Irma Chacon Barrera and companion, Manuel Vasquez all of Uvalde; son, Mario Chacon, Jr. and wife, Raquel of Uvalde; three sisters, Martina Cardona of Washington, Maria Elena Rangel and Leonor Rangel both of Piedras Negras, Mexico; brother, Fernando Rangel of Uvalde; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; two brothers; granddaughter, Nelsy Azeneth Chacon Valdez; and great-granddaughter, JoyLynn Rangel.
Visitation will begin on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 1 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Cremation is under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary.
Pallbearers will be Raul D. Valdez, Mario A. Chacon, Jr., Antonio de Jesus Chacon, Daniel Flores, Vince Ramirez, Eloy Barrera, Jr., Alejandro Chacon Davila, Jr., and Alonzo Barrera, Jr.
