Hermilo Rangel

Hermilo G. Rangel Sr. of Uvalde passed away on December 23, 2009 in Amistad Nursing Home at the age of 87. He was born on August 22, 1922 in Cuidad Acuna, Mexico to Casimiro and Felipa Rangel. He married Josefina Gomez on September 9, 1950 in Cuidad Acuna, Mexico. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Josefina Rangel of Uvalde, Texas; Four daughters; Fina Rangel and companion, Pete Cano; Norma Rangel and companion, John Ortegon all of La Pryor, Texas; Sylvia Rangel and companion, Jessie Garcia of Uvalde, Texas; and Esperanza Rangelof Cuidad Acuna; eight sons; Casimiro Rangel and wife, Rachel; Hermilo Rangel Jr. and wife, Lorena; Manuel Rangel and wife, Liz; Robert Rangel and wife, Debbie; Javier Rangel and wife, Maria; Richard Rangel and wife, Carmen; Jesus Garcia and wife, Lety all of Uvalde, Texas; and Jesus Isaiz and wife, Marisela of Bryan, Texas; one sister; Dora Flores and husband, Gumecindo of Del Rio, Texas; fifty-two grandchildren; fifty-five great grandchildren ; and two great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Heis preceded in death by his parents; two grandsons; Casimiro Rangel and Israel Chivo Aguilar; one sister; Lupe Sosa; and four brothers; Alejandro Rangel, Jesus Rangel, Antonio Rangel, and Enrique Rangel. A rosary will be held on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 7:00 PM at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in Uvalde Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Casimiro Rangel, Manuel Rangel, Hermilo Rangel Jr., Robert Rangel, Javier Rangel, Richard Rangel, Jesus Isaiz, and Jesus Garcia.
