Hilda Davenport

Hilda Davenport of Uvalde passed away on December 29, 2017 in Uvalde Healthcare and Rehab at the age of 81. She was born on May 25, 1936 in Mendenhall, Mississippi to Lonas McLendon and Elizabeth Benton McLendon. She is survived by three daughters, Denise Carter of Houston; Marsha Mack and husband, Scott of Uvalde; and Lesa Carter of Carson City, Nevada; sister, Rhedus Deardorff of Longview, TX; brother, Cecil McLendon of Tennessee; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Leon Davenport; sister, Gussie Jo Stubbs; and brother, D.J. McLendon. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 10:00 am at First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Rev. Steve Peyton will officiate. Pallbearers will be Scott Mack, Scott Howze, Doug Brice, Greg Davis, and Joe Ortega. Honorary pallbearers will be Pat and Cheryl Lowe, Gardys Johnson, Judy Brown, and members of the Life Training Sunday School Class.
