Hortencia Vela

Hortencia G. Vela of Uvalde passed away at Uvalde Memorial Hospital on June 18, 2013 at the age of 86. She was born on April 19, 1927 in Del Rio, Texas to Rafael and Paula Hernandez Garza. She is survived by her daughters, Rachel Gonzalez, Nora Gonzales and husband Jaime all of Uvalde, Lorrie Fuller and husband Joe of Ryan, Oklahoma Angie Gonzales and husband Armando of San Antonio son, David Vela of Uvalde, brother, George Garza of Seguin 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents husband, Valentin C. Vela sister, Julia Servantes and niece Patty Gonzales. A rosary will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at RushingEstesKnowles Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
