Houston Royce Allen went to be with Jesus on November 2, 2022 at the age of 58. He was born July 20, 1964 in Uvalde, Texas to Larry Don and Faye Sparks Allen.
He is survived by his mother, Faye Sparks Allen of Cline, Texas, brothers, Anthony Don and wife Cheryl Oliver Allen, John Brent and wife Laurie Copenhaver Allen, and Joseph Allen, sister-in-law, Sharon Rehak Allen, nephews John Cody Sparks and wife Megan Waite Allen, Samuel Slade Allen and Ariel Thomas, Larry Houston Allen and niece Dorothy Faye Allen, great nieces, Zoë Grace Allen and Riley Page Allen.
Houston is preceded in death by his father Larry Don Allen.
Houston attended Saint Phillips Episcopal School and public school in Uvalde . In addition, he was homeschooled at Cline by Terri Tucker. Activities included bowling in Uvalde, arts and craft, plus academics. Mostly, he attended the School of Life.
Houston spent his entire life living on the family homestead at Cline, Texas. Houston loved to listen to a wide variety of music and would often crank up his music as he did a workout on his back porch. He enjoyed numerous outdoor activities including gardening, driving a tractor, working in his fruit orchard as well as scuba diving and driving his ATV.
One thing that set Houston apart from others was his love for people. Houston was always thrilled to greet visitors and enjoy a good conversation. He truly cared about people he met and once you knew him you had a fierce friend for a lifetime. Houston was proud of his God and would diligently pray for those he knew. Houston had total faith in God that endured until his final breath. Although he suffered from his disease, he never gave up on trusting God in everything. He is now in the loving arms of his heavenly father.
A celebration of Houston’s life will be held on November 10, 2022 beginning with visitation/viewing at 10am followed by a service at 11am at Rushing Estes Knowles Funeral Home. Burial will follow at J A Sparks Memorial Cemetery at Cline, Texas. Pastor Gene Vacek of Streams of Mercy Church is officiating.
Pallbearers are Robert Hicks, John Sparks, Robin Ritter, Matthew Swinnea, Robert Sparks and Bill Hicks. Honorary pallbearers are all the men in Houston’s life that cared, loved and prayed for him.
