Hubert Erwin “Buttons” Robertson, 80, of Uvalde, passed away on November 30, 2022, at Uvalde Memorial Hospital at the age of 80.
He was born on November 27, 1942, in the Merrit Hospital, in Uvalde to Mary Sherlyne (Anderson) and Hubert Barton Robertson.
He married Kathy Baker in Uvalde on May 27, 1967, in Uvalde, Texas.
Button loved the church and was always anxious to be in attendance. He was a lifelong learner, always reading anything he could. He served a 4 ½ year term in the Navy from 1961 to 1966. He was a salesman for F&F Auto Supply, then had his own hardware store in Batesville, Texas for 16 years. After that, he worked at Ace Hardware until his retirement in 2007.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathy Robertson of Uvalde; two daughters, Melanie J. Smith and husband, Erik of St. Joseph, MO and Joella M. Madden and husband, Gregory G. of Soldotna, AK; two brothers, Lonnie Alan Robertson of San Antonio and Robbie Robertson and wife, Sherry of Spain; six grandchildren, Ariel Haakenson and husband, Daniel, Aislyn Keagle and husband, Zachariah, Arika Madden, Adria Madden, Troy Smith, and Meghan Smith; three great grandchildren, Oliver Garret Keagle, Caleb Grant Keagle, Persephone Grace Keagle, and baby Haakenson due very soon.
A celebration of life will be held on December 29, 2022, at 2 p.m. the Robertson Home.
